They do okay. For the money, not so much. Do they try to own up to it, yes. In the end you still pay for 5 stars and end up with perhaps 3 star results. If they didn't outsource the work to non-English speaking (zero) guys from El Salvador in their 20's and leave them without supervision in your house for a couple of days, perhaps it would be better. The 7 page quote / contract with numerous detailed charges (drywall tape joint repair, seal, prime, paint (2 coats), recessed lights, light fixtures, curtain removals/reattach, content manipulation charges, minimum labor charges, haul debris, cleaning, etc.) all have itemized charges associated with them. That's in addition to the charges of the regular itemized paint work. Some is done, some things done poorly, and some not done at all. For example, drapery detach and rehang was quoted at ~$133 (about 10 minutes work and I easily lifted them down personally in ~3 minutes) and recessed lights detach/reset at ~$65 (spring loaded, they pull straight down, which they never did at all. They painted around them.). In the end, the workers mud your walls in affected areas, sand some off and add a layer of paint. When asked what happened to seal, prime and 2 coats of paint (as quoted), they came back the next day and added more mud (???) to the same areas and another layer of paint (still no seal, prime, etc.). So, back to square one!! Some areas had so much mud build-up that a kitchen drawer no longer opened at all (or about 1"). Then they finally sent an internal 2 person English speaking crew (in their 20's) to spend another day repairing the original highly visible and structurally important wall (pointed out from day one, and every day, to any and all). This internal staff did much better on that one load bearing wall. Had they been sent the first time nd for all the work, perhaps the originally quoted 2 days (July 10 and 11) would have not turned in to 4 or 5 days add work July 13, cleaning July 16, and re-work July 19) of my time too. Lastly, don't pay $188 for the cleaning people sent to pretend to clean up after 3 days of El Salvadorians crossing our lawn and the front door entrance a few hundred times. That's about $94/hour and we had to personally clean and pay others to clean after them. We liked the project manager, although I don't think he gets to pick his crew(s), and obviously have other more important projects in parallel requiring his attention. Also, we liked the 2 internal CRS crew guys from the last day. They were much more attentive and professional. In the end, we paid ~$3,500+ for something that is probably 9 out of 10 times (we have had painters do the same areas before) priced at about half of that amount. I think the sweet spot for Carolina Restoration Services may be when Insurance picks up the bill and it's not invoiced to the home owner (our choice). I have a lot of pictures, but unless someone doubts the post, I don't see the point of posting them at this time. It's a 3 in quality. For the money, it's less. Had it been priced at about half, and taken less of my time (overall ~ 2 weeks, instead of 2 days), it would have been a 4+ star rating. I saw the final invoice, they took $83 off for the curtain charge. So, still about $3,500 for us, and for a so so outcome.

Carolina Restoration's Chris Flantos and crew were outstanding. We had a tub over flow that caused damage to three levels of our home, six rooms in total were affected. They did not take care of the clean up but they put us back together perfectly. After we were dried out Chris came out and looked over the size of the job and got started right away. When they started there was barley a break in the action getting us whole again which was a god send. Chris was there with all the updates of what was going to take place next. The flow of information was alway there, we were never left in the dark about when they would be back for next step. In fact they were flexible with us in scheduling the final step of the floors being refinished. Tim Meyers our estimator and Chris Flantos our Project Manager were awesome. If you ever have fire or water damage which I hope you never do, feel at ease being in the hands of these gentlemen. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!!!!

We had an amazing experience with Carolina restoration. Carlos and Calton were so great to work with and they far exceeded our expectations. Garrett Brown (Carolina Restorations employee) inspected my home for moisture issues resulting from a small water leak in the roof. He explained how the moisture reader worked and let me see the reader screen so I could see the results. He was very knowledgeable about the leak and fully explained all of my options. Truly felt Garrett was very honest and forthcoming. He also inspected my crawlspace for another water concern I have. Once again educating me on potential causes and resolution for the issue.
